Degas Ballerinas By Kate Duffy

Ballerinas By Kate Duffy

“Resting Ballerinas” – acrylic on stretched canvas, 2007

This painting is based on one of the famous Degas Ballerinas paintings. I took a section of the original and reworked it in my own choice of colours – bringing in lots of gold and green touches.

I love Degas’ style of painting so watch out for more copy-cats, like my version of the Woman Drying Herself After A Bath.

If you want to take a look at more work by Degas the National Gallery site has a great collection.
